Marine system oil is recommended primarily for use in high out-put cross-head diesel engines in marine service particularly that requiring system oil for piston cooling. In these applications, it will prevent or reduce deposit formation in piston cooling spaces, maintain piston-cooling efficiency and reduce the incidence of piston crown cracking. Also it is recommended as crankcase oil in auxiliary engines.
